We sincerely appreciate your interest in participating in this landmark conference to honour Professor Toyin Falola, Africa’s most preeminent scholar today. We look forward to warmly welcoming you to the University of Ibadan, Nigeria’s premier university, for three full days of high-powered intellectual exchanges, productive networking, relaxation and rejuvenation, and so much more.
The following information is to ensure that your participation at the Toyin Falola@65 Conference is smooth and pleasant. Please pay attention to all the items on the list, and do not hesitate to email if there are still some questions.
The registration fee is N15,000 for Nigerian participants and $100 for international participants. This fee covers access to conference panels and plenaries, conference materials, two tea/coffee breaks each day, all lunches, the conference banquet, other socials, and transportation from hotel to conference venue.
Once your abstract has been accepted, the next step is to visit the registration portal at tf65.toyinfalolacenter.org to register. Registration means (a) filling the registration form available on the conference website; and (b) paying the registration fee appropriate to your status.

Only the International participants will be allowed to pay their registration fee in cash and on-site.
For other participants, the scanned receipts of payment or bank tellers should be sent upon payment or in any case before the deadline of 30 December 2017 to firstname.lastname@example.org and Adeshina Afolayan at email@example.com.
All payments must have printable receipts, please. Kindly direct all other registration related enquiries or challenges to the same addresses above. We truly apologize upfront, but we cannot allow on-site payment of registration fees for vital logistical reasons. Only international participants will be given consideration in respect of this.

Travels/Pick Up (for international participants only)
The Conveners have made arrangements to pick up international participants arriving at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos only between Friday, January 26 and Sunday January 28, 2018. We will also drop off international participants leaving between February 1 and 2, 2018 only. Therefore, international participants must supply us with their travel itineraries as soon as they make their travel arrangements, and certainly no later than two weeks before the conference start date. Participants whose flights arrive later than 4.00pm on any of the given days should plan to sleep over at a hotel in Lagos at their own expense. However, we will be very glad to make all the hotel arrangements for you ahead of time, and to pick you up to drive to Ibadan the next morning. We would also be happy to provide any needed information to participants arriving outside the conference pickup dates.
Bureau de Change
International participants are advised to convert their local currencies to any of the major international currencies most acceptable for exchange in the Ibadan metropolis, specifically the US dollar, Euro or British Pound. Other currencies are not as easily acceptable to currency merchants, or may be valued at a losing rate. You can exchange your money in the arrival lounge of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, in the hall right outside the baggage claim section. Alternatively, the Conference Conveners can assist with the conversion of money at the going rate in Ibadan metropolis. The rate is often more favourable than the official exchange rate at the airport. As at the 26th of November, 2017, the obtainable rates are:

We are also very glad to announce at this time that we have secured some funding to provide support for a number of graduate students who wish to participate at this conference in honour of Professor Toyin Falola, who as we all know, has spent his entire career facilitating the development of younger scholars. Support will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
